WHY PHYSICAL THERAPY

BENEFITS OF PT

image11

Your body is meant to move. When you pull a muscle, sprain a ligament or pinch a nerve your body stops moving normally. Your body doesn't want to hurt more...so it develops stiffness, weakness and you lose range of motion. These problems don't go away with rest even if the pain gets better. The area needs the proper therapy to regain your strength and range of motion to ensure the root of the problem is fixed. PTs are experts in  assessing movement and restoring function.

FIXING THE PROBLEM

image12

So, how do we fix the problem? It starts with a thorough, one on one evaluation of your problem. We determine where you have lost range of motion and strength and what movement causes your pain. Once we have done this we prescribe the specific corrective exercises for your problems and peform certain hands-on techniques callled mobilizations to restore normal movement to the joints and muscles. We will see the problem through to the end.

HELPFUL INFO

image13

Insurance: We are in-network with most insurance plans such as Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, Tricare, and United Healthcare. We also accept auto insurance, worker's compensation and liens from attorneys.   Conditions: Our PTs are trained to treat orthopedic and sports related injuries, arthritic conditions, spine disorders (sciatica, herniated disks, degenerative disk disease, etc), balance and vertigo problems, work related injuries and automobile accident injuries (i.e. whiplash). Scheduling/First VIsit: We can usually offer same day appointments. Your first visit will last about an hour  and you will have a small amount of paperwork.

NECK AND BACK CARE

image14

Neck and low back pain affect about 70-80% of the US population. Causes range from poor posture, intense physical activity to trauma. Treatment includes manual therapy to relax muscle spasm and increase joint movement as well as therapeutic exercise to improve strength and control and prevent future pain.

JOINT CARE

image15

We have a lot of joints which require a broad knowledge base to treat...our therapists have that.  WIth 20 years of experience and Sports Therapy Fellowship  trained PTs, we have  seen a lot and we know what works. From rotator cuff repairs to ACL reconstructions, we know the most effective treatment procedures to get you back to what you enjoy doing.

BALANCE AND NEUROLOGICAL

image16

Balance problems make it difficult to stand, walk, and perform day -to-day activities. Our PTs are experienced in treating people with balance and neurological disorders such as MS, Parkinson's, and strokes. They will perform tests such as motion, strength, coordination, visual tracking and balance tests to help assess your problem. Our therapists can treat positional vertigo, which is a vestibular disorder that causes episodes of dizziness, with Canalith Repositioning maneuvers. We develop individualized treatment and exercise plans to help improve your quality of life.
